The emotion isn’t the problem. The stored pattern is…
Most people try to fix their emotions at the surface.
They manage behaviour.
They suppress reactions.
They “work on mindset.”
But emotions are not random.
Emotions begin as signals.
When they aren’t processed — when they feel too overwhelming, unsafe, or unsupported — the nervous system protects you by storing them.
What isn’t expressed gets encapsulated.
And what gets encapsulated becomes a pattern.
Across both neuroscience and energy medicine, one principle remains consistent:
The body stores what the mind avoids.
Until the nervous system feels safe, it will repeat the reaction.
This is where our RESET Method begins.
R – React; Notice the action
(what am I doing? eg snapping, withdrawing, controlling, overworking)
E – Embody: Notice the body
(what do I feel eg tight chest, overwhelm, feeling rushed)
S – Story: Notice the thought
(what sentences keep repeating eg “I have to do everything”, “I don’t have time”, “No one else will do it properly”)
E – Examine: Notice the belief pattern
(Subconscious root story eg “Asking for help makes me look weak”, “I am not good enough”
T – Transform: Release and rewire
After we’ve acknowledged the emotion and noticed where it lives in the body, the final step is about intentionally updating the pattern.
We introduce a new belief or perspective not a forced affirmation - a belief that feels believable and regulating. When we pair the new belief in a regulated body state our brain can rewire more effectively as we are no longer in survival mode. Repeat the new pattern several times whilst tapping on your cranium.
eg whilst tapping on your cranium say:
“even though i feel overwhelmed and this might last forever… I love and accept you anyway”
or
“even though I am feel fat … I am willing to see my body with compassion instead of criticism right now”
or
“even though I am feeling impatient and irritable … I am willing to let go of the story that I have to do everything”
RESET brings the unconscious into awareness — so the body no longer needs to protect you with the same reaction.
